As we approach Valentine’s Day you’ll be guided to craft a love poem that acts as a portal and expression of True Nature. ❤️
The workshop includes:
Writing subjects, prompts and ‘experiments’ with a spiritual slant.
Learn creative writing skills. Techniques taught include: form, narrative structure, setting, metaphor, use of senses, body and emotion, point of view, rhythm and movement, character and dialogue, tension and humour.
Craft powerful and passionate words, in poetry and prose, to impact the reader/listener.
Explore creative process: access Being/ God/ Awareness/ Consciousness as a source of creativity and words.
The writer’s life: discussion on how to begin, continue and get to the end of writing projects. How to get your work published and out into the world.
Enjoy the paradox and challenge of using words to point towards what’s outside words!
Along the way, be inspired by quotes from many spiritual traditions: Advaita/Non-duality, Zen, Christianity, Sufism, Buddhism, Tantra, Dzogchen, Taoism, Hinduism, Judaism and Islam.
Contemporary teachers referenced include: Rupert Spira, Ekhart Tolle, Thich Nhat Hahn, Natalie Goldberg and Julia Cameron. Poets include: Rumi, Mary Oliver and Rilke.
Skills learnt can be taken into all genres of writing, spoken word and story-telling.
The only prerequisite for taking part is a love of truth: novice and experienced word-crafters are equally welcome.
